Throughout the 2000s, there have been a number of uber-successful entrepreneurs across the globe. Some have invented new machines and inventions, while others found their path to success in different ways. Some entrepreneurs are all about the bottom line and bringing in money, while others have shown themselves, and their companies along with them, to have true audacity, disruption, innovation, and even social responsibility. All the entrepreneurs mentioned in this article have grown successful businesses and are leaders in the entrepreneur world. This article will address two of the most well-known entrepreneurs on the planet.
Let’s start with one of the most well-known entrepreneurs on the planet, Jeff Bezos, who was recently named as one of the top 25 entrepreneurs. Bezos was born in the United States in 1964. After graduating from Princeton, with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science, he made his way directly to Wall Street. In his late 20s, Bezos was named the vice president with D.E. Shaw, a company dealing in hedge funds.
After spending four years with D.E. Shaw, Bezos left the company. The next step for Bezos was starting his now-infamous company Amazon. Every year Amazon has experienced growth, leading to Bezos becoming the richest man on the planet.
Elon Musk, born in Pretoria, South Africa, was voted one of the top 25 most influential entrepreneurs across the globe. Taking a different road than Bezos, Musk initially made his mark with the company Zip2. Zip2 was a company that could provide maps and business directories to online newspaper sources. With such a strong start in being an entrepreneur,
Musk didn’t stop with his first successful business, rather pushed faster and harder towards his next company goals. Musk has created many businesses, but his top businesses are PayPal Holdings Inc., SpaceX, DeepMind, Tesla Inc., and The Boring Company. Maybe these companies sound familiar? Musk has taken many chances with his companies and continues to grow at a fast rate.
Not many entrepreneurs have shown the true tenacity that Musk has been able to muster. From inventing the Model S Tesla Sedan, flame throwers, Paypal, and his current mission of getting mankind to mars, there doesn’t seem to be anything Musk will not attempt as an entrepreneur. A fun side fact about Musk is that in the year 2015, The Simpsons dedicated an entire episode to him.
